Wednesday November 30, 2016

Good evening ladies & gentlemen,

Just a reminder that winter electives forms have been sent home.  Please make sure that all forms and payment are returned at your earliest convenience if your child will participate.  Thank you kindly.  Please see the note below for additional information....

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As part of our Winter Electives program, our grade 4 to 8 students will have the opportunity to participate in downhill skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing at Snow Valley Ski Resort this winter.

Permission forms have been sent home with your children.  Please return them to the school before December 9, 2016.

We will need several parent volunteers to help with supervision at Snow Valley.  If you are able to assist, please email Mr. Macris at alex.macris@yrdsb.ca.  Bus transportation, lift tickets, and rental equipment will be provided to volunteers free of charge.

Volunteers will be working with groups of students.  As such, volunteers must have a Vulnerable Sector Check completed through the York Region Police well in advance of the trip.  A Vulnerable Sector Check form can be picked up from our school’s office.  Furthermore, parents who volunteer to supervise skiing or snowboarding must know how to ski or snowboard.  Parents who volunteer to supervise tubing are not required to tube.

Thank you.

(Due tomorrow)

Math - We will be having a quiz next week on the information in today's check in.  Please begin reviewing this material, and you can use the online videos to help you.  The videos are on the Twitter account.

Math - Please work on the question posted on Twitter from today's math class.  It is the question about creating a trapezoid-shaped garden.  Please attempt this question and begin developing ideas for what you think the answer may be.  It is a tricky one, so don't worry if you don't complete it.  Please don't spend more than 25 minutes on this question.  Bring to class tomorrow the work that you did complete.  (Due tomorrow)
