A message about yearbooks......
Dear Parents/Guardians,

Making new friends and making memories with old friends are important parts of the school year.
Help your child keep the fun and memories alive for years to come with a yearbook, a time capsule
of the events and people that made this year unique.

Last year marked our very first yearbook, and it was a HUGE success.  The majority of our families
ordered one. Rick Hansen Public School is pleased to announce that we will continue the yearbook
tradition started last year.  The cost for the 2018-2019 full-colour yearbook is $26.

Wednesday November 28, 2018

Good evening everyone,

Please find your homework below....

Reading - Too many students do not have books to read during silent reading.  Please make sure you always have at least 1 book that you are excited to read here at school.  This should be an enjoyable part of your day, but it isn't when you don't have a book you want to read.

Health - Substance Abuse assignment.  Remember that we are working on being persuasive using "WOW" strategies, and by using lots of convincing details.  Non-obvious arguments are also very important and useful. (Due December 5)

Science - Poster (due tomorrow)

Literacy - Good copy typed of the "Inspire Yourself" task.  There is a copy of the assignment on Google Classroom.  (due tomorrow)

Math - 2D Geometry test Friday.

Literacy - 3 texts analysed.  You only need to answer the questions in the chart, not the second section.  You are encouraged to choose a variety of texts.  Your first article can be the one you did with your partner in class.  (Due Monday December 10).

PJ Movie Night- Is tomorrow!  It's gonna be fun!!!  Please see School Cash Online to pre-order snacks.  Admission is free!  Please bring a change of shoes.  Boots and bare feet will not be allowed in the gym, and you won't be able to go to your locker to get shoes.

History -Please complete the Constitutional Act questions (Due Friday).

Ross Petty - On Thursday December 13 students will be going to Toronto to see a Ross Petty theatrical performance.  It is asked that students please contribute $5 each for the cost of the bus.  Thank you kindly.

WINTER ELECTIVES ARE BACK!  Our grade 4-8 students will be given the opportunity to enjoy two, fun-filled days up Snow Valley in Barrie, Ontario (Wednesday, January 9th and Thursday, January 24th).  Sign up your child for skiing, snowboarding, or tubing.  Registration packages outlining all the details have been sent home with every student.  Please return your completed forms, and please make your payments using SchoolCashOnline on or before December 7th.

Late Work
1.  Dance & dance reflection sheet
2.  Art - This Is Me task
3.  Math test signed & returned
4.  Persuasive essays signed & returned
5.  Political Cartoons

Please make your payment using SchoolCashOnline (https://yrdsb.schoolcashonline.com/).
