Good evening ladies & gentlemen,

Today, Mr. Yoshida led students through a climate survey in regards to how the school is doing in regards to faith, gender, race, 2SLGBTQ+, socioeconomic status, mental health, indigenous reconciliation and abilities. The purpose of the discussion was to hear from students how they feel we as a school are doing at representing and respecting students in these areas. I share this on the blog because all students are encouraged to be discussing with their parents what we discussed. It is important that families are heard when discussing these topics.

Hansen Palooza is coming in June. This is a huge event for our school, and a very significant fundraiser. It has been as a result of this fundraiser that our school has been able to provide more resources (especially technology) that our students would not have been given otherwise. We are in need of adult volunteers. Please see the info below from our School Council.

Hansen Palooza is always so much fun for everyone! This year it will be held on Friday June 8 from 3:40p – 8:30p. Rain or shine! To make it successful though, a large number of people are needed to help so we are looking for many volunteers from RHPS and the Community. There is a particularly strong need for adult volunteers during the event. All money raised will help support the academic, literacy, arts and athletic programs at our school. This is a RHPSPAC Fundraising Event. Help is needed with event set up, various activities during the night and with clean up. Many hands are needed! You need to first find the different decimals represented on your 100's grid (make sure that the decimal is a representation of the entire grid, not just one square). Next you need to write your decimals in order from smallest to largest. (Due tomorrow)

Hansen Palooza - Our class will be creating a classroom basket for auction. A note went home with more details. Please consider donating, as Hansen Palooza is a huge fundraiser for our school and provides funding that goes right back to providing resources that support you as students. School Council is asking for items that cost approximately $10...or you can also choose to make a $10 donation if you would rather.

Literacy - WOW presentation for Autism Awareness. We will be going over them in class and receiving peer feedback. Please practice your presentation at home so that you are ready to present. (Due Thursday)

Math - Please make notes and try to come up with an answer for why the amount that the surface area increases by doubles every time. You can use the notes below to remind you of what we spoke about (Due tomorrow)

Hansen Palooza is coming in June. This is a huge event for our school, and a very significant fundraiser. It has been as a result of this fundraiser that our school has been able to provide more resources (especially technology) that our students would not have been given otherwise. We are in need of adult volunteers. Please see the info below from our School Council.

Hansen Palooza is always so much fun for everyone! This year it will be held on Friday June 8 from 3:40p – 8:30p. Rain or shine! To make it successful though, a large number of people are needed to help so we are looking for many volunteers from RHPS and the Community. There is a particularly strong need for adult volunteers during the event. All money raised will help support the academic, literacy, arts and athletic programs at our school. This is a RHPSPAC Fundraising Event. Help is needed with event set up, various activities during the night and with clean up. Many hands are needed! Math - What conclusions can we make for how doubling the dimensions of a rectangular prism affects volume & surface area? Are those rules the same if we were to triple or quadruple a dimension? Please explain. (Due tomorrow)

Literacy - Complete 3 questions for Healthy Eating assignment. Please make sure you go back and add much more detail to your answers. The more research you have to support your ideas, the better your thoughts will be. At this point, many of us need to use the resources provided on Google classroom to find a lot more information. You then need to think about how to use that research/knowledge to create meaningful answers to the 3 questions. (Due Monday)
