Good evening ladies & gentlemen,

Today in Health class, we discussed the idea of setting up "guardrails" in our lives.  We defined a guardrail as a barrier/rule that we set up for ourselves that will prevent us from getting hurt.  We decided that a good guardrail is one which we believe in, are committed to, and have a "buffer zone".  We defined a buffer zone as a gap between our guardrail and what can hurt us.  We recognized that buffer zones are important because they help prevent us from getting hurt if we make a mistake and cross our guardrail.

Please find your homework below....

Grade 8 Graduation note - If you are able to help, please return the note sent home Friday.  This is a wonderful tradition that we have at our school.  The note explains :)

Library Books  - due June 15.  Fees will be applied for books not returned.

Health - Create a list of personally meaningful guardrails for yourself.  You can have as many as you would like, but you should have at least 3 good ones.  As you create them, think about having a buffer zone.  Also think about the guardrails you need to set up in order to help assist you in accomplishing the things you want to in the future.  In class we discussed the following topics, but you are not limited to these areas.....
1. Dangers with technology
2.  Relationships/interactions
3. Stress/anxiety/mental health
4.  Substance abuse
5.  Self-esteem & body image.  (DUE TOMORROW)

Have a great evening!
