Friday March 22, 2024

Good evening everyone :)

Any students who may be fasting, please let Mr. Carr know if there is anything that you need while fasting.  This can be extra time to complete assignments, a place to go during snack and lunch, etc..  Please just let me know :)

Grade 8 Grad Trip - With your family, please complete THIS SURVEY by Friday (Due).

Math - Unit #8 (Percents), test will be on Tuesday March 26th.  Please see STUDENT UNIT PLANS for the review.  It is at the bottom of the document.  (Due Tuesday)

Literacy - Please use the "Final Rubric" attached on Google Classroom to complete your Narrative Stories.  Please use the rubric as a checklist.  See Mr. Carr if you have any questions or would like feedback on any particular parts.  (Due)

Literacy - Please complete the 3 questions from THIS TASK under the "Deliberate Practice" Assignment.  This task is to be completed ON PAPER.  PLEASE NOTE!  Very important!  If you were absent for this task, please see Mr. Carr prior to listening to the podcast.  There are some upsetting topics that were discussed about residential schools.  We skipped some of them.  I would like to give you the opportunity to skip them too.  (Due Monday).

Science - Please complete all questions for Task #4 - Water Systems.  (Due Monday)

Geography - Please complete question #4 for the Global Settlement Task (Due Monday)

Math - Students who got less than 4 out of 6 on the Fractions quiz, please come see Mr. Carr at morning recesses.  We will work together and get you prepared to retake the quiz.  Please remember, it's okay if you struggled, but we can keep learning and figure it out :)

Visual Arts - Please complete the Zentangle Silhouettes Task (Due Wednesday)

Literacy - Your narrative stories are due on Thursday.  Please make sure you have done the following...  (Due Thursday)

1.  Attached a good copy of your story on Google Classroom.

2.  Attach a voice recording using Vocaroo.  Please do not use your name as this is not a YRDSB tool.  Simply record your story - reading it the way you want the story to sound.

Have a great evening,

Mr. Carr
