Good evening everyone,

Please find your homework below....

Book of forms - filled out and returned (Due)

Personal Info Sheet - Please review sheet sent home and update with any information which is incorrect, or has changed since last school year.  Thank you :)  (Due tomorrow)

Silent Reading - please note that starting October 1, everyone will be required to have a paper text to read at school.  I would like us to stay away from graphic novels and there will be no more reading on technology during silent reading times.  I encourage reading of these texts in your free time, but during school hours, these forms of text will not serve our learning as well as more traditional texts.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Math - Multiplication questions that were written on the board.  Please follow the algorithm method.  There are other methods which I would like to go over, but for right now, I would like to make sure that we all can complete the algorithm method. (Due tomorrow)

Literacy - Grammar lessons #57, 58, 59 (Due tomorrow)

"As I read this text, the following reminders will help me synthesize....."

Literacy - Please complete the "introduction paragraph" section of your essay organizer.  Again, this should not take too long because you only need to generate the ideas so that you can write the actual paragraph at a later date.  Below are the steps to follow, along with an example of what a final paragraph may look like.  (Due tomorrow)

Introductory Paragraph
1. Strong opening statement which grabs the reader's attention.
2.  Briefly introduce your topic.
3.  Clearly state your thesis.
4.  End with a statement which helps the reader develop excitement to read the rest of your essay.

Exemplar
Action and excitement is what brings us to the movies, but is this really the standard of what makes a truly great film?  In 2018, there were many terrific movies, but one movie stood above all the rest.  Black Panther was by far the best film of 2018.  No other film was able to combine action and excitement with lessons that can be applied to real life.  As you continue below, you will come to see that what makes this movie truly great is not so much how enjoyable it is to watch, but the lessons that can be applied once you leave the theatre and head out into the real world.

Health - Question page (due Tuesday)

History - Please complete the following....
1. Read pages 28-36 in your textbook.
2.  What challenges occurred for the First Nation people?  Please write a brief explanation for each challenge.
3.  In your opinion, is it surprising that these challenges occurred?  Please use details from the text to prove/explain your thoughts.  (Due Tuesday)

French - All about me project (due tomorrow)

Science - Sheet (due tomorrow)

Late work
1. Compound sentences page

Have a great evening!
