Thursday May 23, 2019

Good evening everyone,

A reminder that students are welcome to come in before school (after 8:30am) to get extra help.  Please take advantage of this offer as you pursue your personal best on all tests and assignments.

Career Fair - Tonight from 6:30-8pm.  We have a lot of professionals giving up their time to come and share with our students and their families.  We are really hoping for a great turn out from our students and families.

Geography - Test signed by parent and returned for Monday.  We will be correcting the test on that date, but wanted to give it back ahead of time to give you time to give you a chance to review.  Please make sure the test is with you on Monday.  (Due Monday)

Bike to School Week - Is next week.  With parental permission, students are encouraged to enjoy riding to school :)

Math -  Test tomorrow.

Health - Self-reflection task.  This will be handed and be assessed.  I am not assessing your ideas.  I will be assessing your ability to follow the steps to reflect in a meaningful way on the topic that you chose, and to create some meaningful conclusions and/or set some meaningful goals.  These conclusions and goals are the "Tweets" in the last question on the task.  (Due Friday)

Literacy - Literature Circle Session #3 due Wednesday May 29.  Session #4 will be due Wednesday June 5.
PLEASE NOTE.... It is important that you remember that a big part of the job that you complete for your sessions is to promote discussion within your group.  You do record your own thoughts and answers, but your job is not to read your work to your group members.  Your job is to promote discussion and get others to share their answers.  You can then gradually share your own answers through the discussion.

Guidance - Career Fair Task (Due tomorrow)

Music - Assignment (Due Friday)

Hansenpalooza - This year's event will be on Friday June 14th.  As is tradition, each class is asked to bring in donations to contribute to a fundraising basket.  This year our theme is "King of the Grill - BBQ products".  Thank you in advance for all donations.  Even a $10 cash or gift card donation is very much appreciated.  This is a VERY BIG fundraiser for our school.  Our students have technology that benefits their learning because of this annual event. Thank you for considering donating.  It is very much appreciated :)

Have a great evening,

Mr. Carr
