Tuesday October 16, 2018

Good evening everyone,

Please find your homework below....

Dance-a-thon - Info sheets have gone home.  Event is October 31st.  Please note that this is one of only 2 school fundraisers this year (the other is Hansenpalooza in June), so it is a very important event for our school.

Attention parents
The following assignments have been sent home with marks on them....
1.  History - Worldview Skit assignment.  This was a task where students had to create a dramatic task that demonstrated understanding of the various worldviews of First Nation people and European settlers.

2.  Art  - Unity & Harmony task.  Students experimented with the concepts of unity & harmony.

Arts Package - Forms were due back October 12th.  Please don't hesitate to let me know if there are any concerns.

Silent Reading - This has started...  Please note that starting October 1, everyone will be required to have a paper text to read at school.  I would like us to stay away from graphic novels and there will be no more reading on technology during silent reading times.  I encourage reading of these texts in your free time, but during school hours, these forms of text will not serve our learning as well as more traditional texts.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Pictures - Picture order forms have gone home.  Orders are due October 23rd.

Food Drive - We are collecting non-perishable food items for our annual food drive.  Thank you to those who have already donated :)

Literacy - Good copy of persuasive essays (Due)

Art - Bring in materials for your "All About Me" assignment (Due Tuesday)

Literacy - Healthy Eating Presentations due Tuesday October 23rd.  Please make sure  you follow the checklist/rubric on Google Drive.

Science - Complete the research of the organization that's in your ecosystem, and bring your materials to build your ecosystem by next Science class.

Have a great evening!
