Tuesday October 9, 2018

Good evening everyone,

I would like to encourage everyone to share with their parents the details from the MADD presentation that we had today.  It was a very important topic with very important lessons to remember.

Please find your homework below....

Dance-a-thon - Info sheets have gone home.  Event is October 31st.  Please note that this is one of only 2 school fundraisers this year (the other is Hansenpalooza in June), so it is a very important event for our school.

Arts Package - Forms due back October 12th.

Silent Reading - This has started...  Please note that starting October 1, everyone will be required to have a paper text to read at school.  I would like us to stay away from graphic novels and there will be no more reading on technology during silent reading times.  I encourage reading of these texts in your free time, but during school hours, these forms of text will not serve our learning as well as more traditional texts.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Food Drive - We are collecting non-perishable food items for our annual food drive.  Thank you to those who have already donated :)

Math - Math test next Friday October 12.

Math - Sign up for Math Google Classroom ....Class code for classroom.... 0unbfg8

Literacy - Good copy of persuasive essays due October 15th.  If you would like me to take a look at them please come see me at a morning recess.  Please do this asap.

Literacy - 4 Health questions/tasks completed (Due Thursday)

Art - Line assignment (due Monday October 15)

History - Please read pages 39-50 in the textbook and answer the following questions/tasks  (Due tomorrow).....
1.  Why was New France having difficulty providing for themselves without the help of France's government?
2.  Who was John Talon and what were some important decisions that he made for New France?

Have a great evening!
