Wednesday December 9, 2015

Good evening ladies & gentlemen,

What an amazing show we saw today!  I encourage everyone to share with their families what they enjoyed about the show.  Thank you to Mrs. Legros & Mr. Yoshida for all the planning that went into arranging this for us.

Please accept this friendly reminder that the Winter Elective forms are due on Friday.  These are optional activities, but it is my understanding that most students are planning to go.  If you are planning on participating, please make sure that you have your forms in as soon as possible.  Thank you, everyone!

Please find your homework below....

Literacy - Please create a tweet that is 140 characters or less (around 2 sentences) which summarizes the portion of text below.  This text comes from the R.A. Dickey biography.  You can use your prior knowledge about R.A. Dickey and his mother when creating your tweet.  (Due tomorrow)

"My mother taught me this:  You do not pout or mope or pass blame when things don't go your way.  If you have a problem, find a solution.  If you make a mistake, look in the mirror.  If your car breaks down after picking up your toddler from day care and you get attacked by a dog, you make sure the baby is safe and you keep walking."

Math - Please create two triangles that look different but have the same area.  You can look at lesson 5.3 in your workbook to help you if you need it.  (Due tomorrow)

History - Become an expert on your story (due tomorrow)

History - Are your notes all up to date?  If not, make sure all the homework questions that have been assigned are complete and in your duotang.  You will have an open book test after Christmas.

French - Please get parents to sign form saying they saw the work sent home.  (Due)

-Winter Electives forms (These activities are optional.  You do not need to participate).

Science - Make sure you are keeping up with the assignments on Mrs. Foster's outline sheet.

Food Drive - We are having a Food Drive to support those in our community who could use support.  If you would like to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated.  A reminder for our class that if you get 180 items, I will allow you to shave my head (after Christmas...I need to take family photos at Christmas :)  )

Secret Santa - Back by popular demand!  Gift limit is $5.  Please have your gifts here for Thursday December 17th.

-Please make sure you always have an age appropriate book to enjoy reading at school.

Have a great night!

Mr. Carr
