Good evening ladies & gentlemen,

Winter Carnival is Friday!  Very exciting!

Please find your homework below....

Math - Please use p. 248, and lesson 7.6 in your workbook to answer the following questions.  If you cannot answer, then please make sure you have notes on what you don't yet understand so that you can contribute to the discussion we will have tomorrow.
  1. What is a pentonimo?
  2. What is a tessellation?
  3. What does it mean for a pentomino to have an orientation in a tessellation?
  4. What does it mean to tessellate a plane?

Math Lessons (Listen to these when you need help with the concepts)

  2. Creating Similar Shapes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YzyROtYyEg (Remember, the process explained in this video for creating a similar shape is the same regardless of what shape it is).
  3. Creating Similar Shapes Using Algebra - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUt8KBMkOwc

Literacy - Articles due Friday February 12th.  Please follow the rubric!  This is how you will be marked!

Friday Folders - Please have your parents sign these and return your folder to school.  You can keep all the work.  (Due)

Literacy - Make sure you are following the timelines for your Social Justice readings and assignments. We need to do a much better job of keeping on top of this. Your marks will begin to suffer.

History - Please answer the following question....Are today's First Nations people living in a way that makes them happy?  Does the way they are living align with the views on health, wealth & happiness that they have held since before the Europeans arrived? (see p. 1 of online textbook). Please ensure that you add as much detail to your answers as possible, and use the notes you compiled in class through videos and discussions to support your answer. (Due Friday)

Science - Please make sure that you keep up to date with Mrs. Foster's assignment sheet.

Have a great evening!
