Friday November 6, 2020

  Good evening, everyone!

Sometimes you complete your work in class, please see below for ideas on what to do when you complete :)

What you can work on when you complete your work...

1.  Review past work, study & ask for help if needed.

2.  Read silently & add to your reading comprehension tracking document.

3.  Work on homework.

4.  Continue with Passion Project research.

5.  Take a break and refresh your mind by getting off the computer.

Please find your homework below....

Parent Teacher Interviews - Please let your parents know that they should have received an email about booking parent teacher interviews.  If they have a hard time booking one online, they can send me an email and I will arrange with them a time for an interview.  Interviews are scheduled for Thursday November 12th (evening) and Friday November 13th (morning).  Thank you!

Work from last period Friday - We worked on making sure the following was completed....

1.  All assignments completed and up-to-date. (Including submit art task due today)

2.  Asked for help on any tasks needing support.

3.  Studied for Math test (which is on Tuesday).

4.  Discussed with Mr. Carr anything that is preventing you from completing your best work consistently.  Remember, as long as you complete tasks and ask questions, you should do very well!

Language - The following is feedback that I believe will help everyone in their Passion Project research.  This is feedback based on what I am noticing from examining tracking documents....

1.  Keep learning more!  Learn from lots of different documents/resources.

2.  Be specific about what you are learning.  Push your thinking prompts will help with this.

3.  Explain how your knowledge is growing. (Text 1) x (Text 2) = deeper knowledge/insights

4.  Explain how texts connect to each other.  (Text 1) x (Text 2) = deeper knowledge/insights

Language - Please complete your notes from the "No Limits" text.  There are challenging concepts in the text, but I could see that students were beginning to understand much better through the discussions we had together today in class. The instructions for completing the notes are...

Go and get the full value out of the text. Track…. 1. What you learned. 2. What you synthesized. 3. Your connections (This can include Text 1 x text 2) 4. Questions (Bloom’s Taxonomy chart) 5. Think about how this applies to your passion project...go add that to your passion project.

Math - Integers test Tuesday
