Asynchronous Work - Monday November 7

Hi everyone,

Below is your asynchronous work for the day.  Before you get started, here are some important reminders....

1) Email me or leave a private comment on Google Classroom if you have any questions.  (jonathan.carr@yrdsb.ca)

2)  I can meet with you virtually on Google Meet to provide help/support.  Send me an email or private comment if you would like to meet on Google Meet.

3)  Let me know if for any reason you can't complete your work.  I understand this happens, but please let me know!  Thank you :)

Here is your work for the day....

Math

Complete the practise questions found in the link below for CEMC Lesson #16 - Multiplying DecimalsMake sure you keep track of your work.  If you don't have paper and/or pencil, no problem, but please let me know.  All work you complete should be organized in your binders/duotangs.

    1. Exercises #1-9

    2. Answers & Solutions

Make sure you take the time to UNDERSTAND the answers.  This may mean going back and re-watching portions of the video lessons.

Literacy (Task #1)

Please use your completed graphic organizers to begin writing your persuasive essays.  Your task for today is to complete the following paragraphs....

1.  Introductory paragraph
2.  Body paragraph #1

Please watch THIS VIDEO prior to beginning your writing.

Reminder #1...
The body paragraphs are 1 PARAGRAPH EACH.  In a persuasive essay you don't break the body paragraphs into multiple paragraphs - you keep each body paragraph together.  This means that once your essay is completed, you will have 5 total paragraphs (Intro, Body #1, Body #2, Body #3 & Conclusion).

Reminder #2...
REMEMBER THE PARAGRAPH WRITING STRUCTURE WE LEARNED.... each paragraph should have
- a topic sentence
- supporting details which all relate to the topic sentence
- a concluding sentence.
Click on THIS LINK to review the "hamburger model" of paragraph writing.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Or if you could use support on Google Meet.

Literacy (Task #2)

Spend 30 minutes silently reading.  If you can, please try to get off the screen and enjoy reading something on paper :)  You can choose whatever you read, as long as it is approved by your family.

Music

Mr. Alexander has asked me to share the following website with you...

You can practice various rhythms through this site.  Please don't spend more than 20 minutes on this....unless you are having fun with it and want to continue :)

French

If Mme Murgan has a Google Classroom, please check there and see if she has assigned any work.  Thank you :)

I hope you all have a great day!
Mr. Carr
